Haven Gallery is pleased to present a collection of new paintings from Florida based artist Sean Mahan for his fourth solo show, “Through a Quiet Field” opening at Haven Gallery.
Artist Statement
When the world around us settles down and our environment becomes still
and quiet, it’s possible to notice the subtle and the delicate. Small details
that have been crowded out by all of the noise become available to us.
When the dense and clouded atmosphere settles, possibilities can
emerge.
The paintings in “Through a Quiet Field” depict translucent color fields and
receptive imagery to suggest the beauty that can be uncovered in
moments of clarity.
About Sean Mahan
Sean Mahan is a social realist figurative painter who works with graphite and acrylic washes on wood to depict a sense of wonder about the innate warmth of the human character and its conflict with structures of power and control.
