Jesús Aguado, “Wake Pigment Clash
Exhibition runs: June 5th – July 4th, 2021
Haven Gallery is honored to present, “Wake Pigment Clash”, a mini solo exhibition of seven new paintings by Spanish artist Jesús Aguado. “Wake Pigment Clash” is Aguado’s third solo show at the gallery and is a continuation of his playfully surreal compositions comprised of frolicsome characters merrymaking in phantasmagorical worlds. Animals, people and unclassifiable critters gallivant in unique landscapes and compositions that hark back more traditional style narratives. Aguado juxtaposes these historical roots with his knack for highly expressive and telling characters offering a playful, contemporary twist on art history and our own realities.

His illustrations are recognized by many schoolchildren because they appear in a lot of textbooks. Among other publishing companies, he collaborates with Anaya, Edelvives, Santillana, Siruela, Vicens Vives, Baula, Bruño, Casals, Kumon, Grimm Press (Taiwan) He has also worked for Junta de Castilla y León and Ser Padres Hoy magazine.
