Northport, NY– Haven Gallery is pleased to present “Every Lie I Said Was True”, a solo exhibition of new work by Israel based artist Julie Filipenko. “Every Lie I Said Was True” is Filipenko’s second solo show at the gallery. Filipenko’s paintings are mischievously bold and playful. Her girls are known for their recognizable faces featuring large, expressive eyes curious with wonder and adventure. A lover of pattern, detail and design, Filipenko often juxtaposes her girls with floral motifs or ornaments their surroundings with the innumerable stars of the solar system. Her ornamentation embraces both the femininity of her subjects and inquisitiveness of their burgeoning minds. One can’t help but be drawn in by their girlish guile and be reminded of their own adventures and curiosity from youth.
ABOUT JULIE FILIPENKO
Julie Filipenko is an artist residing in Tel Aviv, Israel. Julie earned a BFA from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, Israel. Her work has been exhibited all over the United States, Australia, Israel and Europe.
